About Bluetick
Welcome to the official documentation of Bluetick, your comprehensive guide to navigating and maximizing the full potential of Bluetick for your Discord servers. Bluetick is a highly customizable Discord bot designed to enhance your Discord experience by providing entertainment, moderating conversations, and facilitating server management through an intuitive web platform.
How It All Started
The journey of Bluetick began from a simple desire: to create a Discord bot that could bring entertainment and foster casual conversations within my own Discord server. Inspired by the functionality and community engagement I observed in bots used within gaming servers, I started a simple bot with a basic Python bot using the nextcord library.
Driven by the feedback from a growing community of active users, Bluetick evolved, necessitating a transition to the DiscordJS library to keep pace with Discord's API updates. The quest for stability and scalability eventually led me to embrace TypeScript, marking a significant milestone in Bluetick's development journey.
Why We Need a Website/Platform
As Bluetick's features expanded, it became clear that managing them through Discord commands alone was becoming unwieldy. Inspired by established bots like Dyno, which offered a dedicated website for easier control and customization, I recognized the importance of a dedicated web application. This platform would simplify the management of Bluetick across multiple servers, making it more accessible and user-friendly for server admins.
The Development Process
Bluetick's transformation into a full-fledged web application was fueled by the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as Next.js
, NextAuth
, tailwindcss
, shadcn/ui
, and TypeScript
for the frontend, alongside NestJS
, TypeScript
, and Rust
for a robust backend.
This development journey saw several phases, starting from an initial build with React
and Material-UI
, before transitioning to Next.js
paired with tailwindcss
and shadcn/ui
for a more tailored and flexible UI. The evolution of Bluetick's features has been a response to direct user feedback and a desire to incorporate the most sought-after functionalities from other popular bots.
The Name
The name Bluetick is a nod to my Discord username, blue
, and the bot's signature feature: the creation of tickets within Discord servers. These tickets can be channels or threads designed to meet a variety of needs across different servers, such as providing customer support, facilitating user support in gaming servers, or managing applications for gaming groups, all with a simple click.
The Product
Today, Bluetick stands as a comprehensive solution for Discord server owners and admins, offering an easy-to-use platform to manage their communities. It blends a powerful Discord bot with a rich web application, offering a wide array of entertainment and management features that cater to the diverse needs of Discord servers.
Thank you for choosing Bluetick. We hope this documentation helps you make the most out of your experience with Bluetick on your Discord server.
